7-Up (or Sprite) Biscuits

This is yet another recipe that I have Pinterest to thank for. Upon my browsing last week I came across these 7-Up Biscuits that were all the rave apparently. They promised to be quick and easy and taste like KFC biscuits... Have I mentioned that I love KFC biscuits? Especially with a little honey drizzled on top. So naturally I had to make these.

I ran to the supermarket to pick up the only ingredient I didn't have in stock - the 7-Up and because Sprite was on sale I figured it couldn't be all that different and went with that instead. Hey, we all have to cut corners somewhere right?

Biscuits with Gravy

I have a little bit of a secret. Though I'm a born and raised New Yorker and I highly doubt I will ever leave, there's a little bit of something inside me that belongs somewhere else. I have a thing for the slow pace and lifestyle associated with the south, I'm a big fan of Nicholas Sparks books and whenever I read them I always find myself imaging my life there. Or maybe doing the like Pioneer Woman and moving onto a farm and living up the slow and easy life, forgo the hustle and bustle of suburbia. Will I ever do it? Probably not, but a girl can dream.

All that being said I have a thing for southern food, there's something so comforting and warm in those dishes and I can't get enough of them. Chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, sweet tea. I love it all. How many of you always make a point to stop off at a Cracker Barrel on road trips? It's the kind of food that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and with the rain and threats of hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes lately I have to take a moment to share a little of that warmth with myself.
