Monday Musings

I've been working on this blog for just over a year now and I have to say it's been so exciting and fun. As always looking back on the year that is suddenly behind you, it makes you think. Which is what brings me here to a Monday Musings post. It's my first post of this kind and hopefully the first of many. I love posting about food and creating recipes but the whirlwind my life has taken me in lately has really left with me with little time to cook! That's not to say I'm not cooking, because I am but it's been a lot of repeat dinners, quick fixes and embarrassingly enough times when I've forgotten to snap a photo because at the end of  the day I'm just so tired! But bit by bit I'm pulling myself together and preparing some posts and getting ready to kick off this summer right.
But there's more to me than food and I thought maybe it was time to start sharing all of that with you. I'm a runner but I'm not even going to attempt to try to give tips on running or work outs because I am far from an expert! I am also a reader, writer and in general a lover a words. If any of you follow me on Pinterest you would find an entire board filled with inspiring quotes and thoughts. As someone who spends most of her time writing or with her nose in a book I can't begin to express how important words are. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to share even more words with you now that I have finished writing my first novel and am currently shopping it around to agents!

So every now and then I'm going to share with you a particular thought or quote that has struck me or kept me going that week. I'll keep you informed on what books I'm reading or have loved and give you all an insight into another part of my life!

Last week I stumbled across this on Pinterest and just thought it was so cool. I love cool facts like this that kind of make you go "huh" but this was just really awesome to me. So whether you're going through a tough time, need an uplifting thought, or reminder to not be afraid just remember this.

Pretty cool huh?
